The exact size of your drawer box will be determined by the type of drawer guide you use. Choose the type of guide you would like to use and follow the instructions below:

  1. Measure the width (horizontal or side to side) and height (vertical or up & down) of the rough opening.
  2. If you are using undermount drawer guides, subtract 5/8” from the width of the opening and 1” from the height of the opening. Round the height to the nearest whole inch or the nearest whole inch plus ¼”. Our drawer boxes are available in whole number increments or whole number plus ¼” increments (i.e., 4”, 4¼”, 5, 5¼”, 6, etc…).

For example: The opening width is 12” and the opening height is 6”. The width of your drawer box will be 11 3/8” wide by 5” high.

  1. If you are using sidemount guides, subtract 1 1/16” from the width of the opening and ¾” from the height of the opening.

The width of your drawer box will be 10 15/16” wide by 5 ¼” high.

  1. Measure the depth from the front of the cabinet face to the back wall of the cabinet (make note of any obstructions i.e. electrical boxes, pipes, etc).

The exact depth to order will depend on the type of guide you are using. Consult the specifications from the drawer slide manufacturer before placing your order.
